Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District offers technical assistance at a fee of $60/hr. District staff are available to assist landowners, municipalities, farmers, county residents, and organizations with natural resource focused questions and concerns here in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties.

Buffers and Re-vegetation Plan Assistance
District staff meets with landowners to assess properties and create revegetation plans to comply with the Maine Shoreland Zoning guidelines. Assistance includes site visit(s), a scaled site plan, plant lists, and written recommendations.
Erosion Control Technical Assistance
District staff meets with landowners, private road associations, and municipal officials to provide options for addressing erosion problems that impact water resources including pre- and post-construction activities. Assistance includes site visit and written recommendations.
Conservation Landscape Certification Program Assistance
District staff advises landowners on implementing conservation practices in a systematic way and provides one-on-one help on your property. A checklist is available online to assess current progress towards conservation goals. One visit is complimentary per landowner with additional visits at the standard rate.
Invasive plant control practice plan (ipcpp) preparation
District staff assess your property and prepare an Invasive Plant Control Practice Plan (IPCPP). Landowners with 10 acres (or more) can complete apply to be reimbursed for half of the cost of the plan from Maine Forest Service through a grant program.
WATERSHED PLANNING ASSISTANCE
District staff can help coordinate a watershed survey, survey report, Watershed Based Plan, and application for Chapter 319 funding for lake/pond associations, towns, and other stakeholders. Staff can also assist individuals interested in forming a lake association.
EVENT AND WORKSHOP ASSISTANCE
District staff can help host or coordinate an event for organizations in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties. See additional information about education programming offerings here.
COMMUNITY RESILIENCE PARTNERSHIP ENROLLMENT
District staff help enroll municipalities in the Community Resilience Partnership, making them eligible for Climate Action Grants for climate mitigation and adaptation activities. Staff assist with preparing resolutions, self-evaluations, and host a community workshop.
