Watershed Management

The District offers watershed management assistance to towns and lake associations.
  • We are trained as Technical Leaders for Watershed Surveys, which are community efforts to identify sources of pollution within a watershed
  • We prepare Watershed Survey Reports and Watershed Protection Plans to Department of Environmental Protection specifications to eliminate or reduce pollution sources
  • We have successfully applied for Clean Water Act Chapter 319 funding. In January 2025, the District began administering Clean Water Act funding for implementation of the Taylor Pond Watershed Protection Plan and Thompson Lake Watershed Protection Plan. In January 2026, the District will begin administering Clean Water Act funding for implementation of the Upper and Middle Range Pond Watershed Protection Plan.
  • We have successfully applied for Clean Water State Revolving Funds on behalf of lake associations
